When Bruno Manser traveled through the rainforest, his camera was always with him. During his stays with the Penan on Borneo and the Pygmies in the Democratic Republic of Congo, he took over 10,000 photographs between 1986 and 2000. They tell of the traditional life of the nomadic Penan and the Pygmies and their habitat, the rainforest.
They convey the ruthless destruction of primary forests by timber companies and document the resistance of the indigenous population. Last but not least, they bear witness to Bruno Manser's sometimes spectacular actions in the fight against the deforestation of his paradise on Borneo.
After two years of project work, a selection of this treasure trove of images is now freely accessible to you.
